Finally finished :-) The technique used was a fold formed basic T-fold with inserts. This pendant was created with an insert of nuts and bolts. The copper was annealed and bent into a loop. The 'legs' were clamped in a vise and the 'table' was very gently hammered into a flatter shape. The nuts and bolts were inserted. The 'table' containing the nuts and bolts was hammered with firm hammer blows until the outline of the nuts and bolts began to appear. When all was done, the piece of copper was removed from the vise and annealed again. It was then gently unfolded and the shapes could be seen clearly. I decided that I would be able to use this piece as part of a pendant and there was a long piece at the side that was asking to be made into earrings. All the pieces were patinated with Liver of Sulphur. I wanted to get the darkest colour possible so that I could use polishing papers to create high-lighted areas on the pieces. I soldered a textured silver ring to a piece of copper that would act as a backing to the fold formed patinated copper. This piece of copper was given a satin finish, first by a green pan scourer rubbed over the copper in small circular motions. This gave the copper a great satin finish. To enhance the satin finish, I brushed the copper with a fibre-glass brush. The fold formed piece was then riveted to the copper with four little rivets and hung on a rubber cord.
