Hockey Pool Scoring
A hockey pool is a variant of ice hockey in which the participants (called "owners") each draft or acquire a team of real-life NHL players and then score points based on those players' statistical performance on the ice. It is a simpler and less involved version of fantasy hockey.
Gain (a number of points) for a competitor; be worth
(score) gain points in a game; "The home team scored many times"; "He hit a home run"; "He hit .300 in the past season"
Gain (a point, goal, run, etc.) in a competitive game
(score) mark: a number or letter indicating quality (especially of a student's performance); "she made good marks in algebra"; "grade A milk"; "what was your score on your homework?"
Decide on the score to be awarded to (a competitor)
marking: evaluation of performance by assigning a grade or score; "what he disliked about teaching was all the grading he had to do"
