Hockey Picture Frame

Last week, I happened to be at the top of Signal Hill at the same time
the United States national women's hockey team were off their bus,
looking around and posing. I liked this spotlight and took several
pictures.
I love the feel of the Petri Compact E, a half-frame camera that is as
old as any two members of that team put together. Mine is sharp enough
at small apertures, but aggravatingly soft at wider ones. This was
shot with 800 film so I used a pretty small aperture and it's
reasonably sharp. I cannot figure out the light-leaky bar at the
bottom. It's entirely within the frame, so it's not from the back of
the camera. It looks like a sin of a laggy shutter curtain, but the
Compact E's shutter is a three-leaved leaf shutter. It's not a fault
of the scan either -- the bar is there on the negatives. Nonetheless,
it's one of those serendipities of film that I like.
