Bill Cook
Having survived the nightmare of the First World War in Flanders and France perhaps life as a professional hockey player might not have seemed all that tough to Bill Cook. He was an accomplished amateur with the Kingston Frontenacs prior to the war and did not turn pro until 1922. He won two Stanley Cups in his 11-year NHL career and was a four-time all-star. He remains the oldest regular-season scoring champion in NHL history, having led the league in 1932-33 with 50 points in 48 games with the New York Rangers at age 37 years, 5 months.
