193/365 - Gold Medal Game
Well, I was going to spend most of Sunday practicing my strobist skills, but I didn't really get around to it. Too many errands to run, had some work to do, and then was off to the Sports Cafe to root on the US of A against our Canadian neighbors for the gold medal match in Hockey.
It was a pretty intense night - the bar was absolutely packed, and I have to say the Canucks far, far out represented the Americans (that doesn't mean we didn't make our presence known!) The game was absolutely outstanding - the US tied it up with like 25 seconds left in regulation to take it into an extra period. But alas, it wasn't meant to be and the Canadians won with a goal from superstar Sid Crosby.
Now I have to say, although I was disappointed the the US lost, I'm a huge Penguins fan so if someone had to score the winner for Canada, I'm really happy that it was Crosby. He rocks.
Never being a sore loser, I'd like to say congrats to Canada on a game well played!

finally tried these, they're good, but good enough that I missed the Hawks' first goal while in line for them? I don't know. fortunately, the Hawks were nice enough to score 3 more that I DID see. I was in the 300 level and these are only sold on the 100 level, so it took up most of the break to get them.
taken when I was waiting for an interruption in play to get back to my seat; some jerk who must not have been to a hockey game before tried to push past us and was baffled he couldn't get through...
