- (Pink flamingos) Pink Flamingos is a 1972 American transgressive comedy film directed by John Waters. When the film was initially released, it caused a huge degree of controversy and thus became one of the most notorious cult films ever made.

Harking back to the '50's, the Shady Dell
features refurbished vintage Air Stream travel trailers which you can rent as you would a motel. All the furnishings are right out of the 50's including doilies, ceramic panthers and kitty clocks with wagging tail as a pendulum. And pink Flamingos in the yard.

Found outside Marshalltown, Iowa. A few years later, I had the opportunity to actually check in and give it a whirl (which means, that I was there without my wife). Big mistake. Whew.!!
