jan 11 - washing dishes
after dinner my back was sore and i wasn't up for doing the dishes--- so i asked for help and you, mr. a volunteered. right now you enjoy helping out around the house. in fact, both the kids do. we haven't had to create a chore chart and we haven't implemented any allowance system for that matter (sshhh- don't tell them yet, they haven't asked.) think running the vacuum cleaner, using the spray bottles to wipe down counters, and the toilet scrub brush are all still novel items to them. i'm grateful that they are both willing to help out (not to say there are times when we 'strongly encourage' and helping is the only option) but for the most part we have willing helpers. and i love the times like this evening when mr. a didn't skip a beat and volunteered.
also don't want to forget this funny dinner convo... i know this will be embarassing for mr a one day but have to write it down. while miss a was sharing about her school day there was a loud 'toot' as we turned to look between craig and mr. a to find the source of this noise -- mr. a started giggling. well we all did and mr a said... "whaaat??? well you know beans are the musical fruit." and my response "so, you were playing the trumpet?" then think craig said, "no, it was more like the bass." well, you can imagine the giggles and laughter from this convo. oh guess i should add that we had chicken fajitas with refried black beans for dinner.
Trumpet - Lead Pipe
Interior of lead pipe of trumpet. The lead pipe is the portion of the trumpet from the mouthpiece to the first valve. This can be easily cleaned with a brush, sometimes water as well. This is also the first place in the trumpet that receives air and water condensation. It is proximal to the rest of the pipe of the instrument. This area of the instrument often receives a chemical flush (muriatic acid or a detergent/vinegar mix) when brought into a repair shop.
