  • (Cork flooring) Flooring is the general term for a permanent covering of a floor, or for the work of installing such a floor covering. Floor covering is a term to generically describe any finish material applied over a floor structure to provide a walking surface.

  • Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak tree. The bark is ground into small pieces, mixed with resin, then pressed into sheets. These sheets are applied to the floor like linoleum. It is sensitive to many chemicals. \

Bar and stem combo. I painted, stripped and then repainted these bars three times. After I was finally happy with the finish I "sanded" them with XXXX steel wool, polish compounded, then waxed them with 40 year old Johnson's Floor Wax. The wine cork is a bar end plug in progress.
I was able to thread the bar through the stem opening without making a scratch! I hold the rattle can about six to eight inches from the surface...much closer than the directions suggest. The paint goes on thicker but there is far less orange peel. Then I rotate the part about every 5-8 seconds to reverse any runs that may have accumulated due to painting so near the surface. After painting I immediately blow dry it with my wife's blow dryer or use a heat gun though with caution.
