Factory Direct Carpet
- Factory direct is a term used to explain when a manufacturer sells directly to the end-user of a product. Most products bought and sold by consumers are purchased through intermediaries and in many cases can include two tiers made up of distributors and resellers.

In order to honor the memory of his late son and continue his developmental work on a new V-6 engine, Enzo Ferrari directed Vittorio Jano to finish Dino's project. It was not only Ferrari's first mid-engine production car, but also marked the debut of a new Ferrari-based Dino brand that was entirely devoid of Ferrari badging. In 1969, the Dino received a larger and more powerful 2,418 cc engine, and its reported 146 mph top speed and race-inspired handling quickly impressed Ferrari fans. With production of approximately 3,800 examples continuing through 1974, the Dino 246 was available both as a hardtop GT and a targa-style GTS.
Chassis 04570 is the ultimate collectors dream! This two owner, US export Dino was purchased new in 1974 by a resident of Portland, Oregon; he owned the car for 3 years. In May 1977 showing 18,600 miles it was acquired by an avid sports and race car aficionado from the original caretaker and has been meticulously well preserved in his very private collection since it was discovered in June 2011.
It is an amazingly original car, including the rare factory black paint, tan hides and carpet. This 30k mile time capsule is fitted with power windows, Blaupunkt radio and air conditioning. Additions include tastefully applied headlight covers; it also comes with a car cover.
Original spare, emergency roadside kit with pouch, leather bound manuals, 34 years of service receipts, spare and accessories accompany the car. Recognized in 246 Dino Registry, this example makes an exceptional “preservation class” candidate in any major concours or show arena!
