Little did I know that after entering a carpet shop outside of where Memphis used to be that I would shoot this picture. Several of my friends call it their favorite and now Budget Travel has named ot one of their favorite portraits. In addition, Budget Travel and Birkenstocks awarded me a gift of sandals in one of their contests. Thank you from the Spirit of the World.
Islamic carpet 2
Another carpet with animals and birds, this time a leopard attacking a black deer. Lovely colours. Looking at these, I always wonder whether William Morris took some inspiration for his designs from carpets like these - some of the patterns, designs and colours are very similar.
