During Holy Week and Easter, these carpets are constructed on streets and the floors of churches all over this colonial town in Guatemala. Hours of painstaking labor go into the design and construction of these beauties. Only to be trampled under the feet of those carrying heavy barges on their shoulders in religious processions.
