Kashan is a city in the desert of the Esfahan province. The city is world famous for its carpets. But besides the carpets, Kashan also has a name for silk, ceramics, copperware and rosewater.

The bazaar of Kashan is one of the most beautiful in Iran. It has many other interesting buildings inside it, like mosques, caravanserais, water storages and of course the fantastic mill.

Kashan Motachem - Iran

Motachem was a highly regarded designer of Kashan at the end of the last century. According to Persian Carpet specialists, all the fine Kashan carpets from that period are Motachem rugs.

In this beautiful rug the choice of motifs and colouring give the decoration a pleasing balance. The central motif is a large flower in full bloom surrounded by many other attractive blossoms. THe border contains 32 flowers, which are in total harmony with the entire design of the rug.
