(Kashan carpet) A Kashan rug is a type of Persian rug from the area of Kashan. Kashan is a city in Isfahan Province in North Central Iran. There was production of Persian Carpet at Royal workshops in the 17th and early 18th century.

Motachem was a highly regarded designer of Kashan at the end of the last century. According to Persian Carpet specialists, all the fine Kashan carpets from that period are Motachem rugs.
In this beautiful rug the choice of motifs and colouring give the decoration a pleasing balance. The central motif is a large flower in full bloom surrounded by many other attractive blossoms. THe border contains 32 flowers, which are in total harmony with the entire design of the rug.
