Rug hooking is both an art and a craft where rugs are made by pulling loops of yarn or fabric through a stiff woven base such as burlap, linen, or rug warp. The loops are pulled through the backing material by using a crochet-type hook mounted in a handle (usually wood) for leverage.
(Hooked Rug) This type of rug is made by pushing loops of yarn through a canvas backing. Making a hooked rug is a relatively quick and easy process and it is an affordable alternative to an authentic knotted rug.
Providing detailed and practical advice
A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.

Two Winters Rug
This rug measures 3 feet by 4 feet. I designed this piece to use up left over wool strips. I intend to use this as a rug in my home when finished. It is titled 'Two Winters' because that is how long it has taken to hook it!
I'm hooked
Hooked rug I found at an estate sale for $15. Anybody know how to clean it? I think it's cotton, not wool and it smells like animal urine:(
