Pemaquid Peninsula
On our way to the coast of Maine we met an old lady who advised us to visit the Pemaquid Peninsula. It's the best place to see the real New England life, she said. And she was right... Lovely villages with white wooden houses and churches, tiny harbours with coloured lobster nets and hardworking fishermen and very friendly villagers. The local "diner" serves a coffee for 90 dollarcents and free refill and always fresh baken blueberry muffins :-)) Life seems te be simple and uncomplicated here..
Society of Mary October Devotion 0855 edited-1
The October Devotion of the Society of Mary started with a Solemn Pontifical Mass in St Agnes and St Pancras Church, Toxteth Park, celebrated by Bishop Ladds, and sung to Mozart's Spatzenmesse. After lunch, a decade of the rosary was said, led by the parish priest of St Clare's, Father Prescott. We then processed with a statue of Our Lady through the streets to St Clare's, for a sermon by Father Beresford Skelton. After processing back to St Agnes, we had Exposition & Benediction, followed by tea and cake. Heaven on earth!
