I've not really taken anything on places that have been important for me. I slept in this site for about eight nights. And, it was damp, boiling of a day freezing of a night, exhausting brilliance.
This place is one of the most important ones in my life, despite only going there once. I will most likely never return either.
Everything came together so well. It made me see life wasn't so shit. That you can trust people. That people can be helped. The kitchen and eating area just to left of the tent in the photo is where I started to learn to trust. A convocation I had on the stone table a little walk back from the tent made me see things aren't that shit, and that there is always something and someone there.
I would love to go back. But at the same time I wouldn't. No I would not want to go back. Those memories, thats all they can ever be now. and I'm so happy with that.
Beginning?
Yesterday after work I bought a disposable camera and used it up on my walk home in about 10 minutes. The spontaneity was very liberating. I didn't have to worry about any of the things that make my digital camera so complicated. I just kept winding and clicking and winding and clicking. I dropped it off to be developed yesterday and the pictures should be ready by Friday and then I'll scan them and upload onto my account here. I'm really excited about this. I had a lot of fun with it so I bought a a pack of 10 more disposable cameras online last night. And then today I bought a 2-pack on a whim and I'm mostly done with the first one.
So I think I'll start uploading pictures from these disposable cameras as they get developed.
More to come
