Sydney Opera House and Harbour at night
I took this photo when last in Sydney (Thursday July 6th) after being ona cruise out to Parramatta. I really wanted one good image of the opera house and since I didn't have a tripod with me I decided to use the timer function on the camera and set the camera on a railing and made sure it didn't fall (lol) so that it was stable and produce a picture that wasn't blurred by camera shake. I used the Natural Light (N) mode because I read in the manuals (and reviews) that this was a good mode for capturing images at night. When I viewed the image in the viewfinder I was so happy. I can finally say that I can take photos at night :) Next time I plan to take along a tripod and do a long exposure capture at the highest quality setting.. I had very little memory card space so this image was only 640 by 480. Stil, it was a great test of night photography and I will continue to experiment.

out the window
I am a kid with a new toy! Got a new phone, one with a camera. Then got a tilt-shift app to go with it. All geekiness aside, I'm pretty stunned at the picture quality this thing can get, and even more stunned at the photo processing software.
Oh right, the photo. Well, that's the view out of my kitchen window (until I move house again). Parramatta river in all it's glory.
