Flip Camera Wiki

Pilot Super - Top
This is a top view of my Pilot Super, showing the VF magnifier & extinction meter.
The magnifier lives folded down behind the front panel of the focus hood. You flip it up by turning one of the chrome (actually probably nickel?) knobs on the side of the hood. To get the hood to stand neatly, the magnifier then sits on top of the two side panels, but under the edge of the rear panel.
I find the magnifier helps a lot with focusing, but makes framing worse (you can't see so well into the dark corners of the screen).
You can see here that the extinction meter's all ready to go. There's a filter you can flip up to set it for slower film, but I don't know yet what films speeds the thing is for.
