Tiny
I'm not green-fingered. At all. The only thing I've ever been able to grow is orchids - which seem to thrive under my distracted inattention. Everything else goes interesting and straw-like.
After eating an orange last week I spat out a single pip and wondered if I could get it to sprout if I planted it.
The little pot it's in is about 3 inches across at the top and filled with a bit of compost. It sits on a very sunny window sill and catches rays from morning to night right through the hottest part of the day.
I've kept the soil nice and moist and chatted to the seed each day, then after about 10 days, we had a visitor.
This tiny seedling is about 1mm across it's two leaves. It's ridiculously small. I daren't water it from the top - I'd crush it with a single drop.
But it's the first thing I've ever grown from a seed, and I feel unaccountably happy to have brought it into the world. :)
Oh - and this is a 1p coin. :)
Tiny Baby Tortoise
this tiny baby tortoise photo was taken at the world of birds. The actual size of the tortoise is the size of half an adults thumb. I must add that this was taken through a glass window..
