Fashion tip of the week 11/19
Holiday season is fast approaching and there are so many great styles this year to wear to those festive gatherings. The feminine look is still popular and showing up in all areas of fashion. My favorite trend for 2010 is sequin.
It is exploding in the market and it is gorgeous! I have found it in skirts, dresses, tunics and tanks.
What I love about sequin is you can dress it up or down: a sequin tank paired with jeans, a velvet blazer and great boots is an excellent look for a casual holiday cocktail party.
Or you might prefer a sequin skirt: this worn with tights, booties and a belted cardigan is the perfect expression of cool elegance.
Fashion Tip #5
I created this series in a collage style. The background is from an old sewing instruction book that I found at the library's old booksale for 25 cents. I used ribbon, buttons, a piece of an old tape measure and words cut from a fashion magazine to decorate the background. The tops were hand drawn and some of them were stamped with a stamper for the pattern and then colored in. The skirt was made from fabric scraps and inserted behind the shirt and between the layers of the card.
