A New Life

July 30th my water ruptured. Scarred me to death because I thought I was only 28 weeks along. They admitted me to the hospital immediately and after an ultra-sound, they estimated her age to be 35 weeks! I was completely confused because I thought I had conceived early February while visiting my husband in FL. I had also seen him at Thanksgiving, but ruled that out as possible conception date because I had a Dec/Jan period! Didn't know you could be pregnant and still have your period.
Anyway, the doctors took extra precautions since there was confusion about how far along I was. Another complication was that I had pre-eclampsia. It's a pretty serious condition as it can develop into seizures if not treated. The only way to get rid of it is to deliver the baby.
The doctors induced me and after 12 hours on Pitocin, I pushed for about 13 minutes and she was out! The amazing thing is that because she was older, she didn't have any breathing problems or other health complications. We were released from the hospital after 5 days and are doing great! We have so much to be thankful for!!!
