Another Osaka-based sushi is the preserved Saba (mackerel) sushi. The mackerel is salted then marinated in vinegar overnight. It is then wrapped in a thin layer of Konbu seaweed and pressed onto well-vinegared sushi rice. This sushi is also sometimes pressed into a box-mold like ''hako-zushi'' in which case it is often known as ''Battera''. It is made to keep for several days without refrigeration.
Refrigerator is full
I've filled the fridge up with food for Monday and Tuesday's lunch. What is nearly 4 quarts of hummus, and a box of cucumbers, bells peppers and herbs. Three more boxes of produce have been left out. I am going to take the kitchen back for cooking.
