Secret 006
Yes, this is true. It was on their '88 tour the first time they came to Houston. I guess there were a lot of jacked up high frequencies being thrown around and I was up near the front of the stage. Since I'm taller than a lot of people I tend to hang out to side as to not block anyone's view. Somehow I got pushed into a wall of speakers for the duration of the concert. Needless to say it screwed up my hearing a bit. To this day there are notes that Genesis hits that have me keeled over in pain. It doesn't matter if it's listening to a recording or in person. If it's at a certain level and I hear it chances are my face is screwed up and I'm covering my ears. I didn't really noticed until a few months later when they came back a second time when they were in full Acid House mode. There's actually a pretty funny story about Genesis teasing me through out the whole concert because I wouldn't smile in my Laibach T-shirt. OK, maybe it's not that funny you had to be there.
