A table on which meals are served in a dining room
The first dining tables of which survivors remain are the type known as refectory tables. They are made usually of oak, and one of the earliest, at Penshurst Place in Kent, has a typical thick top of joined planks supported on three separate trestles.

Todd English's Tuscany Restaurant
Mohegan Sun Casino,
Uncasville, CT
I've passed by this restaurant numerous times and i've never really stopped to look at it, or realize how inviting and tempting it really looks, until recently.
If you stop and look at the different lighting schemes throughout this whole dining area, it really is remarkably planned out. There are many different shades of hue's producing extreme contrasts, between each section of the dining area which gives off a very cool and calm mood.
This scene struck me as cozy, warm, inviting, comforting, romantic, private, and most of all - photogenic. They really did a good job creating a sight to lure people in, with the temptation of a comfortable dining area to rest their weary legs from traveling, to enjoy a well cooked meal with a special someone.
