Vertical Window Shade
- an opaque window blind that can cover or uncover a window
- (Window Shading) Any device for reducing unwanted heat gain from a window.

Window Shades
I needed to have an image on the SD card to update the firmware for my TZ5, so I just snapped off a quick shot of the closed shades over my living room window. I didn't edit this at all--no cropping, no sharpening, nothing. It's straight from the camera (although the TZ5 recorded that the image is vertical, so I re-rotated it back to horizontal using flickr). I don't know why, but I just like this shot.

A table setting in a closed restaurant seems imprisoned by the protective vertical bars next to the glass window. Taken through glass against the early afternoon sunlight in Federation Square, Melbourne with the EF 50mm f/1.4 USM prime.
