First, an explanation of the picture: The midriff section is made out of remnants of a beautiful silk drapery we altered at my part-time job(interior decoration workroom). I have a little narrow piece to work with, so I wasn't able to match the pattern exactly except at center back

The fabric for the outside of the bag came from the drapery remnant bin at Hancock Fabrics for $3.99/yd.
I took the metal rings off an old bag and repurposed them for this.
I used Vogue pattern #8406, but made it wider so the laptop would fit and lengthened the handles quite a bit.
