197 Porsche GT3 RS (2006-11)
Porsche 997 GT3 RS (20??)
The RS is a homologation model of the already highly tuned GT3 with a close ratio six speed transmission and single mass fly wheel enabling a free reving engine. The RS is 20 kg lighter than the GT3, weight saving achieved by the use of a carbon fibre rear wing, plastic engine cover, and a lightweight plastic rear window. The N.American version has a standard glass rear window and standard five pin wheels against a centre locking wheel nut elsewhere.
Like the GT3 the first generation 2006-08 is powered by a 3.6 ltr flat six engine. The second generation from 2010 features a larger 3.8 ltr flat six of 444 bhp
The orange colour was created especially for the road legal GT3 RS
The body is 44mm wider at the rear than the GT3, concealing a wider track.
