flowers and a random story. : ) IMG 7727

flowers and a random story. : ) IMG 7727

a bit down the road from my house the local farm has wild flowers growing. i lost enthusiasm to get pictures because as soon as i went into the field the wind went nuts. XD isn't that how it always is? anyhoo, the picture doesn't do the view any justice at all but thought i'd share.

on a random sidenote we have these stupid neighbors. one of the last big storms in the winter lots of trees got messed up with branches on the ground everywhere. this guy had a ton of brush and branches that he put out by the road. about fifty feet worth and piled several feet high. it was a lot of stuff. most of it was pine. last week my dad looks out the window because he smelled something and sees all these flames at the end of the driveway at the neighbors yard. the flames spread a bit through neighbor's yard and took out a tree and some other brush. the fire almost got to this guys power lines as well. our neighbor is a dumbass. plain and simple. with how dry everything is from lack of rain he is lucky that fire did not spread to our yard or elsewhere. seriously, how dumb can people get?

probably going to Borders later and Bed Bath and Beyond. just "trying" to get the motivation to run out. : ) i've been watching Spartacus Blood and Sand on my Netflix streamed to the new player.

learning how to see

learning how to see

"By far the hardest part of photography is learning how to see." ~ Galen Rowell

This wildflower was beside a wee stream (you can see a bit of the water's reflection on the left), and the sunlight was falling so that one side of the shot & the flower would be lit brightly, while the right side was in deep shadow. It came out just as I'd envisioned it as I knelt there trying to decide how to compose the shot. Pretty neat when that happens.
