  • The disc brake or disk brake is a device for slowing or stopping the rotation of a wheel while it is in motion. A brake disc (or rotor in U.S. English) is usually made of cast iron, but may in some cases be made of composites such as reinforced carbon-carbon or ceramic-matrix composites.

  • The disc brake component that straddles the rotor and houses the piston(s), cylinder(s) and brake pads. The piston movement pushes the pad against the rotor to slow or stop the vehicle.

This tab allows for proper disc brake caliper orientation for a 25mm range of axle movement when installed correctly. It is designed to fit a broad range of track bikes and the two arms can be trimmed to fit their corresponding track end and seat stay.

I wanted to get them done out of 3/16" 4130, but couldn't source any without a wait, so I went with plain jane 1018 in 1/4" thick. They'll have to do.
