how life's a white offering
...or "wonderful woman wears white while wishing." White, the opposite of black, sometimes symbolizes pureness. Our lives are in some ways clean slates from the start. My flickr name of "Shiroi," Japanese for "white," was chosen partially as a representation of an aspiration, and is not a claim of complete pureness. I like to reach for multiple positive meanings in my actions and choices of words. We have many opportunities in our lives, to make decisions with both permanent and temporary results. Offering a smile to another, or presenting something charming, may be the first uplifting gesture the receiver has encountered so far in her or his day. If you wish to make another happy, that intent is likely already more than half the accomplishment, if you have made the other person a friendly part of your life.
I will be on vacation from October 29th through November 10th. I want to express heartfelt gratitude to all who have appreciated my efforts with this site. If photos like this have in some way whitened your day, I hope they also brightened your day. I plan some more presentations for you, for after I return.
