Highway to Vengeance: A Thomas Highway Novel (Volume 1)
Ripped from today's headlines: An ex-Navy SEAL . . . A daring raid on a heavily fortified stronghold . . . A clandestine operation to take out a reclusive international terrorist . . . Join ex-Navy SEAL Thomas Highway on a high-octane thrill ride as he sets out to kill the man who murdered his wife while simultaneously negotiating a pair of covert government agencies. One is trying to stop him. One wants to help. But both have their own hidden agendas. Highway's search leads to a former drug lord turned terrorist who's looking to smuggle a WMD under the porous Mexico border. But that's not going to happen. Not if Highway can help it. From the sun-drenched beaches of San Diego to the crime-ridden streets of Tijuana, HIGHWAY TO VENGEANCE combines a hard-boiled, neo-noir, first-person POV with modern thriller elements and a highly accurate account of real-life SEAL training to create a twisting novel that explores the darkness within us all, the lengths one man will go to avenge his lost love, and the difference between vengeance and justice. Praise for Highway to Vengeance: "Brian Springer brings a clear new voice to the thriller genre. He is destined to become a new superstar." Cym Lowell, author of Riddle of Berlin "Final verdict: It's a bad-ass story, that slams into you at full speed from the very start and takes you on a wild thrill ride." Thomas Highway is a broken man.
Six months ago he'd been living his dream, embarking on covert missions and killing terrorists to keep America safe from harm as a Navy SEAL.
Then disaster struck, in the form of a flesh-eating virus that ended his career and nearly his life.
Now he spends his nights alone, drinking himself into oblivion, just trying to make it through another day without killing himself.
Then one afternoon an old friend arrives, begging for his help to take down a dangerous fugitive. Highway reluctantly accepts, deciding that putting his skills to use might alleviate some of his pain. But as the night drags on, he realizes he may just have found more than he has bargained for.
