- "In Bloom" is a song by the American grunge band Nirvana. Written by frontman Kurt Cobain, the song addresses people outside of the underground music community who did not understand the band's message.
- The Life Before Her Eyes is a 2007 American thriller film directed by Vadim Perelman. The screenplay was adapted by Emil Stern from the Laura Kasischke novel of the same name. The film stars Uma Thurman and Evan Rachel Wood.
- Song #2 on Nevermind. It was also released as a single: the 7" and cassette singles were released November 30, 1992, and CD singles were released on December 7 1992. It's B-sides include "Sliver" and "Polly", both live versions recorded 12/28/91 in Del Mar, CA.

Gladiolus - Language of Flowers - August Flower of the month
I couldn't find any around here this year. Next year I plan on planting some bulbs in the early spring.
Gladiolas take from 60 to 100 days to bloom once planted. The name Gladiolus is Latin for small sword and refers to the shape of the leaves. They have also been commonly called Sword Lilies and Corn Lilies. Symbolically, this flower signifies remembrance, infatuation and strength of character.
