Size
To give you an idea of how the big the E583C is, I've included some of my "smaller" gadgets (and the iPad)
(Picture's missing my 1st-gen Nano)
In fairness, I don't use a lot of these anymore... they're just back in their boxes (in case they can become collectors items)
- I use the iPad, and most recent iPhone.
- I got the iPod classic specifically for the car - so it usually stays there
- I use the iPod Touch if I want to walk around with an iPod - which, you'll be surprised to know, doesn't happen often.
But for the most part, I usually will only be having 3 gadgets on my person at any given time: iPad, iPhone, and E583C. Which is pretty reasonable considering a lot of people in the Philippines usually have more than one phone and an iPod.

Asus EEE 900 running Arch Linux using XFCE4 as desktop environment and Compiz as window manager.
On the left side are my Conky scripts, keeping information I want fast access to on the desktop, such as active wireless access point and signal strength, new mail, free diskspace and monitoring of certain folders. It also reports when updates for Arch is available.
