Kitchen Witch Clothespin Doll - Rhonda
Kitchen Witches are said to be a Norwegian custom, inherited from early settlers. This witch was a good witch, said to make the kitchen a spot of warmth and happiness. Gentle, whimsical and loving, she created such magic that the mischief of the bad witch, who curdled milk and would not allow cakes or bread to rise, had no power. I have a little bit to do on this yet (I know, adding months and dates would be a good move!)
I'm making this as a commission for Mother's Day - the kitchen it's for is cream and red and has some strawberries, so I thought I'd continue the theme. Strawberries and polka dots are so nice and summery :)
