An appliance for supplying hot water for purposes other than space heating or pool heating.
Water heating is a thermodynamic process using an energy source to heat water above its initial temperature. Typical domestic uses of hot water are for cooking, cleaning, bathing, and space heating. In industry, both hot water and water heated to steam have many uses.

A plastic or brass valve located near the bottom of the water heater that allows the tank to be drained when the water heater needs to be replaced and also permits periodic partial draining by the homeowner to flush out sediments that may have accumulated in the bottom of the tank.
A valve located at the bottom of a spill container to drain accumulated liquid into the UST. Drain valves, depending on the type, may be activated by pulling a chain, pushing a rod, or pulling a lever.

Before the pressure tank
So the heater was draining water. I called the heater service and they came and replaced the pressure valve. The guy didnt seem happy. Later, when I was in the office saying that the leak was still there, I was scolded that "THEY only service the burner, nothing else. No water..." (sorry)
Lake Valve
Seen near Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park, NY. The lake seen behind the valve control is almost completely dry. When I arrived, several Great Blue Herons flew away in a hurry.
