Must. Stay. Awake
Had a really bad evening/night with Oliver yesterday (or is it today? I'm too tired to work out the semantics of it all.) I got about 2.5 hours sleep and have been awake since 4.30am. I won't go into all the gory details here, but the only way we could get him off to sleep was to hold him in our arms, although when we then put him down in his cot he would wake immediately and scream the house down again. Even a 45 minute car ride didn't help.
At 5am I did the one thing I swore I would never do, and brought him into bed with me. I didn't get any more sleep, but at least he got a good solid 3 hours. I did get some serious cramp though. Guess it comes with the territory when you are a parent.
Today is my last day at work, it should have been a relaxing day followed by cocktails tonight but I haven't been this busy in ages. Case in point, it's taken me until 3.40pm to upload this photo.

Got a new lens! About two years in. I'd say I finally got tired of the kit lens, but I've been over it for quite a while now. It was time for me to move on to something else.
Originally, I was gonna go with the Sigma 10-20 but after going through a few reviews I decided for the Canon 50mm f/1.8 instead. I know they're completely different lenses but I was primarily looking for a change from the kit lens and that's what I got. The f1.8 is light, fast, and super cheap. Definitely a good bang for the buck.
I'm still shopping for a wide angle lens, so the 10-20 might not be too far behind. For now, I'll be going nutty with this one.
