This is where I turned around. I'd had enough for one day. The hole beside the front tire is where I dug down to see how deep the snow was. It was about 40" deep. You can just see the handle of my shovel sticking up out of the hole. The tires are 33x15.50 Dick Cepek FCII-s at about 4psi. The snow was of a consistency at this elevation that didn't provide much traction. The chains helped some.
A flat tire?
Dick Cepek Fun Country 44" tires are used at low psi to dive in snow. Here's a picture of mine with 3,5psi. Note how the rubber bulges in, this adds friction and raises the temperature of the rubber. So this is not recommended unless you have snow to cool it down...
