Wheelbarrow…
“The wheelbarrow may lack the grace of an airplane, the speed of an automobile, the initial capacity of a freight car, but its humble wheel marked out the path of what civilisation we still have.” ~ Hal Borland
It is still a mystery as to who invented the wheel and when the wheel was invented. According to archaeologists, it was probably invented in around 8,000 B.C. in Asia. The oldest wheel known however, was discovered in Mesopotamia and probably dates back to 3,500 B.C.
Vintage Raleigh toddlers bike 1960s?
I thought this would be an easy, simple restoration....
How wrong can you be?
The rear axle needed replacement. Try finding a 5/16th axle around 150mm long.
Try finding a half link for a 1/8th chain....
But, after all the hassle it's a great little bike of its type.
12 1/2" wheels! Tyres look like wheelbarrow pattern, but the Raleigh chrome is 100% and it 'works!'
