Dora 1
The Dora 1 submarine bunker in Trondheim. Dora was the german phonetical code for D ( Drontheim).
Built by Organization Todt in 1941 - 1943, this submarine bunker was planned to be a part of a gigantic german navy base, with three submarine bunkers and accomodation for 200.000 soldiers.
Dora 1 is roughly 150x100 metres, with 3 metre thick walls and a 3,5 metre thick roof.
The bunker is also the final resting place for 5 serbian workers who fell into the concrete during a work accident. Local urban legends say that there are supposedly hundreds of bodies in the walls, and that the workers were thrown into the concrete when they died or became sick, but that is just a legend.
In fact, when the 5 workers died in the accident, the engineers spent a week calculating how much the bodies would compromize the building.
Dora
Dora is a new puppy that my brother and his partner adopted. She is even cuter than any picture can say. She looks like a living, breathing stuffed animal.
