A chef prepares food in a giant cooking vat in one of the city's Sikh temples where food is prepared and given out for free to the poor. Cooking starts early int he day and continues all day and late into the evening.

At Government House, Victoria, with the following note "This hand cast seal pot used by the West Coast Indians for cooking 1880-1890". Now does that mean they cooked seals in it?
