part 1
Russ and I are in our second year and our second Christmas. Last year, we had Christmas dinner a week early since we'd be spending the actual day apart. I can't stand how much I love a good turkey dinner so I have no issues having it twice.
We set out to Whole Foods [or if your speaking to your grandma, "Whole Paycheck"] to buy a fresh turkey and fresh everything and a very expensive fresh price. But damn, they've got good food.
At the meat department, our eyes grew wide when they caught sight of the giant turkey breasts wrap around a chunk of stuffing already to pop in the oven. We are both lazy when it comes to cooking, even though we have every intention of cooking great meals, we prefer other's to our own. This was a dream. The butcher told us to put it in at 350 for about an hour as it was only about 2.5 pounds.
The butcher told us this...and the cook books... and the online.
They're all a bunch of liars. All of them.
This is at an hour an a half.
