Stars of the show
In December 2008 I was lucky enough to go to Liverpool as 'cultural ambassador' for a Bristol school participating in the Portrait of A Nation project.
Here, the intrepid pupils of Hillfields Primary School, who as the youngest participants won everyone's hearts at the Portrait of a Nation finale. Here they are dressed as famous Bristolians, in costumes they made themselves, on the freezing steps of St. George's Hall.

So farewell then
Beryl Cook
Self taught artist
and lover of life
You painted many pictures
Some of them were rude
Keith's mum liked them
And had a calendar with them on
I thought you should have been pleased
When they say you are well hung.
