We came from Chicago through Dubuque, Cedar Rapids and Ely. The drive from Iowa City to Chicago normally takes 3.5hrs, with this flood route it took 7.5 hours.

In this world of mergers and buy outs I am not entirely sure this factory is still Quaker Oats, but for me it will always be known as Quaker Oats, a Peterborough landmark. I do have to say though I didn't smell the cooking oats. Sad:-) It was a familiar smell growing up.
