13 Things about me
1. I was a Flight Attendant for TWA for 13 years
2. "I love people and I love to travel" ~ it's true but it is also kind of a flight attendant interview joke.
3. I have a bit of a fear of heights (but not heights on airplanes)
4. I really do not like to cook (might even hate it)
5. I don't mind baking but don't do it because I would eat it.
6. I LOVE coffee (my daughter gave me this one)
7. I am addicted to Amazing Race (might have to do with my love of travel)
8. I have 2 sisters and 3 brothers but officially am an only child (it's complicated, they are all half or step)
9. My all time favorite book is "The Power of One"
10. My first job was at McDonalds starting at $3.25 an hour
11. I miss flying so much that I would apply to one of the smaller west coast airlines if they were hireling
12. Last year was the first year I didn't get my Christmas cards out since I started sending them and it is looking like I won't get them out again this year and it makes me sad.

Pilot Monty
Duck!
I just did this, spur of the moment, just fooling around, but it really got me thinking. Just for a moment, entertain the idea that I could have been a pilot, with the lives of literally thousands of people in my capable hands, every day! I was recently asked what I'd be doing if I wasn't doing what I am now (whatever that is) and I immediately answered, "Pilot." That's what I wanted to be.
OK. Well, instead, I'm going to Stampede this year, access all areas, as a lifestyle photographer. This shot was for my credentials.
But I could have been a pilot, I swear it. And, by 38, maybe I'd be flying the big girls around the sky. Who knows? I still have my good eyesight. But... I also often wonder, "Did I dodge a bullet? Do they let diabetics fly?" I'm not a diabetic yet, but I'm very sensitive to sugar. I often worry whether, if I'd been a pilot, a latent hereditary condition would have cut my career short.
That's supposed to be contrails in the back, by the way. No one said this was a quality job!
