In the days before the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground reached Heathrow Airport . London Transport introduced an " Airport Express" Bus from the then Underground Terminus at Hounslow West Station to the Airport .
"Standee" A E C Merlins were used ! So only the first 32 passengers were seated for the no doubt noisy trip down the A4 Bath Road , to the Airport .

How incoming " foreign" passenger coped with the "Coin in the Slot " entry system is almost unthinkable !
