Defiant anti-government protesters ignored orders of the Government to leave Bangkok's besieged airports and faced off with Thai police, raising fears of clashes as crippling anti-government demonstrations escalated.
PAD protesters stormed Bangkok International Airport Suvarnabhumi on 26 December and put on halt all its operations, grounding all flights and creating havoc among passengers. More than 340,000 passengers is thought to have been stranded, while airport authorities have a mammoth task ahead to accommodate and screen priority passengers onto few emergency flights which are running from small navy airport remnant from Vietnam war era, south of Bangkok.

Our best mission was flying the Bangkok-Shuttle twice around Thailand during our 18 hour duty day.
Our schedule was 24 hours-on, and 24 hours-off, with one additional day-off each week. After living and flying there for 3 weeks, we were totally exhausted from flying long hours, touring and partying on the town.
We would then return to CCK AB for a week, then fly 3-weeks in Vietnam.
I got to fly that shuttle 3 or 4 times, but mostly flew 3 week missions in Vietnam out of CamRanh Bay AB or TuyHoa AB, with occasional short missions to Japan or Korea.
