Brooklands Automobile Racing Game
This wonderful old Chad Valley game dates to the 1930s.
As a child in the 1950s/60s, it was one of the favourite toys that we took out of my Grandmother's cupboard on our weekly visits.
Actually I always found the border illustrations rather scary but the thrill of the chase generally overcame those sort of thoughts...
Sadly, the sixth little metal car was lost long ago, and some of the drivers appear to have sustained terrible injuries, but it is still a joy to play.......great memories.
Favorite Toys
As a kid my favorite toy, if you could call it that, was an Amstrad 464 computer (along with its green monochrome monitor) my dad got us for Christmas back in 1985. It was magnitudes less powerful than a mobile phone is today and took over 10 minutes to load a game via cassette tape, but I loved it.
