Prototype Boba
This is a limited edition Boba Fett which was released in conjuntion with the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. This is the write-up Brickset gave the minifigure:
For those that don't know, Boba Fett is a very popular character from the Star Wars films; during the original character development, it was planned that his body armour would be white, as can be seen in various concept drawings, but they finally settled on a more colourful design. This 'prototype' white Boba Fett has been the inspiration for figures released by other toy manufactures (e.g. Hasbro) in recent years.
Recently in Ireland and the UK, Smyths Toys have been giving away one of these guys with every purchase of Star Wars Lego. I decided I had to have as many as my budget would allow (they are going for upwards $30 each on Bricklink so they pay for themselves!) so, having checked that Smyths didn't place a limited on each figure, I bought two of the smaller sets (7913 and 7914) and got two of these guys.
My plan was to open one and keep one sealed, but to date I've kept them both sealed - hence his appearance behind the polybag in the photo above! That may well change though.
