Academy Awards... 2011.
That time of year again. Better do this while I still have a chance... I'm looking forward to seeing
how the hosts do this year. Even though I'm not remotely a fan of James
Franco. Our new Catwoman? That's a different story. Love her.
Best Picture... "The King's Speech"... I'll have to admit I haven't seen "The Social Network" yet.
I just can't find interest in it. Perhaps tonight I'll rent it. So my
answer could change... no need to look at the other
nominees.
************************************** Winner: "The King's Speech"***********************************
Best Director... David Fincher(The Social Network)... He seems to be the guy this year. How
Christopher Nolan missed out on this one is beyond me...
and David O. Russell made it!!!???... with the exception of
the acting categories, for me, "The Fighter" is so out of it's
league. I saw it mostly as a made-for-TV film. A good one.
but still.
*************************************Winner: Tom Hooper(The King's Speech)***********************
Best Actor... Colin Firth(The King's Speech)... No contest.
*************************************Winner: Colin Firth************************************************
Best Actress... Natalie Portman(Black Swan)... If not her, then put your money on Annette
Bening.
Best Supporting Actor... Christian Bale(The Fighter)... There are a few possible upsets here.
Except Mark Ruffalo. Great movie, but I see
snowball chance 4 him here.
*************************************Winner: Christian Bale*******************************************
Best Supporting Actress... Melissa Leo(The Fighter)... Gonna stick with the front runner. Though
I could see Steinfeld(True Grit) of Bonham-Carter get this.
Best Make-up... "The Wolf Man", "Berney's Version", and "The Way Back" are ur choices... &qu
272/365 - Alice looks down
29 Sept 2011
It's a glorious day over here in Easbourne. I can't believe that it's nearly October and the sun loungers were out!
I borrowed my friend's new Olympus PEN at lunch today and played around with the art settings down at the beach. I used the the tilt-shift setting (they call it something else). These are my feet, but someone said it reminded them of Alice in Wonderland...
I think it's a great little camera, but I am toying with getting the G9 for my impending Everest trip.
