California Coast Motels
- Coastal California refers to the coastal regions of the US state of California. The term is not primarily geographical as it also describes an area distinguished by sociological, economical and political attributes.
- The Motels are a New Wave music band from the Los Angeles area best known for "Only the Lonely" and "Suddenly Last Summer", both of which peaked at #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982 and 1983, respectively. Their song "Total Control" reached #4 on the Australian charts in 1980.
- A motel is a hotel designed for motorists, and usually has a parking area for motor vehicles. They are common in the United States.

The California Coast - One Man's Melancholy Evening
This was not too far from the motel we stayed in at San Simeon, California on our summer vacation.
Several days we spent thinking about events to honor the life and death of President Reagan. They were taking place along the California Coast this same weekend. From what I remember, Reagan was buried the next day.
