Taken at LONG range from the end of the Palm Jumeira near the new Atlantis hotel. QE2 came into view slowly and was accompanied into the port by Sheikh Mohammed's Royal Yacht "Dubai" (which looks not so much smaller than QE2!) and a Royal Navy destroyer (HMS Lancaster - how appropriate for THE Queen !). The Emirates Airline A380 also flew low over the flotilla. She disappeared from sight into the Rashid port and I had to go to the airport. At least I got a last look of her as a real ship.

it takes approx. 10-15 Minutes to the Airport in Dubai (approx. 20 - 30 AED by taxi or hotel car) and nearly 20 minutes to the Dubai Mall. When we went to a restaurant near the Burj Al Arab we took more than 30 minutes in the taxi (approx 40 AED). Next door is a Crown Plaza and the Festival Center Shopping Mall.
